Stories

A couple of little surprises have been tucked away,
and I’m so excited to finally share them with you! 🙂

I’m thrilled to announce that TWO of my pieces have been published!

“Coffee Fiend”

My very first published piece is a 50-word short story published through Vine Leaves Press. It will be featured in their upcoming anthology, The 50-Word Stories of 2026.

Order your copy here!

“Wonders of the Dark”

My second published piece will be featured in Little Thoughts Press, Issue 15: In the Dark. This one is especially exciting to me because Little Thoughts Press is a children’s literary publication, and writing for children is where I hope to make my home as an author!

These are just a couple of the first steps in my journey toward becoming a traditionally published children’s book author, and I couldn’t be more excited to see where this journey takes me!

Be sure to check out your local library and bookstores to discover new favorites, too!

Happy Reading! ❤️ Jenn

A Little Fall Frenzy Fun!

This was my first time participating in the fall Writing Frenzy and I had such a fun time creating a playful little poem! A big thank you to Kaitlyn Sanchez and Lydia Lukidis for organizing this event and giving writers a chance to let their creative juices flow!

🍎

My contribution is a little story about a sick child, a caring “Mum,” and a whole lot of apples! I hope you enjoy this little piece! Sometimes the “sweetest” remedies come straight from the kitchen!

And remember…an apple a day keeps the doctor away!
(Especially if it’s baked into a pie!🥧)

An Apple (Pie) a Day

You know what they say
‘bout an apple a day.
And don’t forget the honey!

It’s quite a big pill
when your stomach is ill.
Who likes when they feel funny?

I’m sick with the flu
and don’t know what to do.
I call out for my Mummy.

I try not to cry
as my mum drops on by.
“Now, now! We’ll fix your tummy!”

This isn’t a test,
but which apple’s the best?
I hope they aren’t much money.

I’ll try a Spartan,
SweeTango or Cortland,
Red Prince, Opal, or Envy.

A Newtown Pippin,
a Baldwin, Jonathan,
Blacktwig, Regal, or Fuji.

Honeycrisp, Cameo,
Braeburn, Summer Rambo,
Ambrosia or Pink Lady.

I’ll take one of each.
Just please promise, no peach.
I don’t like them, they’re yucky.

BRR-IING goes the bell!
Is that apple I smell?
Then slowly my door CREEEAKS.

What’s that in Mum’s hand?
Wow, it looks mighty grand.
I bet it tastes so yummy.

My eyes open wide
as Mum hands me some pie.
How’d I end up so lucky?

It turns out it’s true!
It gets rid of the flu,
when apples are baked in pies!
